ANALYSTS have been led to believe that Apple�s smartwatch was a sales flop after the company left details out of its financial figures.

While not releasing specific figures for the Apple Watch, Apple reported total results for several products, including the watch, that suggest sales were lower than many Wall St analysts expected. The company also issued a revenue forecast for the current quarter that suggested sales could fall below analysts� prior estimates.

Apple�s latest financial report shows the iPhone is still the key engine of the company�s success. The California tech giant said it sold more than 47.5 million iPhones during the three months ending in June, or 35 per cent more than a year ago.

But top executives stood by their decision not to disclose results for the Apple Watch, saying the information could be used by competitors. Many analysts and investors see the watch as an important indicator of the company�s ability to produce successful new products.

In one tantalising clue, Apple reported $2.6 billion in revenue from the segment that includes the watch and several other products, or about $952 million more than the previous quarter, when the watch had not yet gone on sale.

If we were to guess that the $952 million was from Watch sales, it would mean that Apple sold � at most � roughly 3 million of its latest device, assuming all sold were the cheapest model. Significantly less than the iPhone.

It�s also half the $1.8 billion in watch sales that analysts surveyed by FactSet were expecting.

Apple�s stock fell nearly 6 per cent, indicating investors weren�t satisfied with the report.

Apple chief financial officer Luca Maestri told the Associated Pressthat revenue from the watch amounted to �well over� that $952 million increase. He said the category also includes revenue from iPods and accessories, whose sales fell in the quarter.

�We beat our internal expectations� for the watch, Maestri said, adding that the number of watches sold in the first nine weeks was greater than the number of iPhones or iPads that the company sold in a comparable period after those products launched.

Apple has previously said it sold 1 million iPhones in the first 74 days, or more than 10 weeks, after sales began in 2007, however that was only in the USA. Apple has said it sold 2 million iPads in the first 60 days, with iPad sales hitting 3 million in 80 days after the iPad was launched in 2010.

Meanwhile, analysts and investors were eager to learn more about the Apple Watch, which went on sale in April. While not expected to be an important revenue source now, the watch has symbolic importance as the first new product category that Apple has launched since the 2011 death of founder and iconic chief executive officer Steve Jobs.

�When you look at the next big wave of innovation, in coming years, it�s not going to come from smartphones,� said analyst Angelo Zino of S&P Capital Markets, who said phones were already becoming �commodity� items, even with Apple dominating the high end of that market. �So a lot of people want to see if Apple can roll out a new product that�s very successful and innovative.�

While Apple executives say demand for the watch has been strong, the absence of official numbers has left analysts to offer estimates ranging from rosy to lacklustre. Maestri acknowledged that Apple has released detailed sales figures for other products, but he said the company wanted �to be careful� with information about the watch, to avoid tipping competitors as Apple learns more about consumer demand for a new product.

One of the big problems at the moment facing the Apple Watch is a classic catch-22 case. Big app developers like Facebook are being increasingly cautious in developing apps for the new platform, leaving big Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp holes in the Watch ecosystem. Similarly, Google has shown a lack of support for its big apps like Gmail and Maps due to a lack of users on the platform.

But the problem here is, people aren�t buying the Watch because it doesn�t have any big features or killer apps that consumers think are worth dropping big dollars for.

APB Reloaded Some Criminal Tips For Faster Money Video

I havent played APB in over a year and decided to try booter up once again. Its now on Steam and works great. It automagically logs you in and informs you that if you dont have a Gamersfirst Account (the publisher for APB Reloaded) you can create one at their website for free. If you are a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series of games, this Free To Play (F2P) Player-Versus-Player action-oriented "MMORPG" is definitely one you should try. I did a First Impressions article last year when I tried out the Reloaded Beta. Since then, I have been having the passionate love-hate relationship with this game again; but having a blast overall. I see there are still a good influx of new players and people asking questions in the game and on forums and so I thought I would put together a few quick tips helping fellow Criminals with some concepts that will assist in speeding up making some cash (dont worry - Enforcer tips to come in the future).

You dont have to go all the way to a Joker Ammunition Vending Machine (if the closest is far away, especially when on a mission). You can Resupply at the nearest Mailbox and Vehicle Vendor/Spawn by hitting I to open your inventory, then T to resupply.

The game doesnt do a lot of hand-holding for an MMO, but there is a fair amount of text in the game and chat windows that inform you of things you can do as a Criminal. You can simply mug people walking down the street (in my opinion a slower way to make money). You can steal vehicles and sell them to Chop Shops for profit (the shops can be shown on the map). You can also ram-raid stores and grab all the loot that drops out. These are life lessons, people.

Here is a short video showing some tips for new players and concepts for criminals on how to make money a little bit faster (Locations shown are in the Financial District but concepts apply to any District, some footage was shot on a server that did not give full bonus/money for turn-ins):

I cover mostly Ram Raids and Chop Shops, but with some little tips and tricks thrown in. I created this video because I saw a few things in-game that I thought Id help with. One was a new player attempting to ram a store front that wasnt raidable. Another is players parking waaay-far-away from their fences/contacts and walking forever to turn in their goods. Like this poor guy below (dont worry, I blurred your name):

Maybe he didnt know you can drive into here and park closer. Even with that, Veronika Lee is in a very busy area. Enforcers traffic is high with their Contact and Impound Lot nearby and Criminals go to the Money Laundry not far from here. One will get you caught and the other will get your loot-laden ride stolen. I suggest the Fence location mentioned in the video for fast, more-out-of-the-way-and-therefore-away-from-people turn-ins. I like hyphens. I go over the differences in vehicles and how much each can carry and I also show some Chop Shops that are close to GA5 repair centers, so that its a short/fast trip to drop vehicles off for faster cash.

Some things I didnt cover in the video but wanted to add are:

• When ram-raiding, it is slower to stop the vehicle and back in, or smash straight in and then move the vehicle out of the way. If you want to be faster and lower your chances of getting Witnessed, learn to do a drive-by ramming by coming in at a sharper angle and bouncing off the store window, smashing it and collecting the loot after you stop just on the other side of it.
• Loot-laden Vans and Trucks will drive slower. You will have to figure out your own balance of danger vs profit. If you are above $1500 in dirty money and can be witnessed all the time by passing  cops, dont use a slow vehicle if possible. But, if you want to get tons of cash at once and the District isnt very busy, using a full van again and again to go well over $1500 is possible if you stick to back roads and take an outside route around to the Money Laundry. Its all up to you. If you keep ram-raiding, just dont forget to repair your vehicle at a GA5 station, ram-raiding causes it damage too!
• Chop Shops will not take multiple vehicles fast one after another. Mix it up a bit by doing some ram-raids on the way to the next Chop Shop area (repairing before you hand it in of course) or grab the most expensive vehicle you see and drive it straight to the next closest one. The choice is up to you.

If youve been playing constantly since Beta and are Rank FiveBillion and know all the little tricks in the game, you might not learn a lot from the video; but if you are a new player or are looking for help making faster money as a Crim, the simple concepts presented in the video will make your cash flow just a little bit more... flow-y.

6 SECRET WAYS TO SAVE MONEY

Saving money has always been important, especially in these rough times.   Many “money gurus” have silly suggestions, like cutting out your morning latte.  This is fine for those who take part in those luxuries already, but what about the larger percentage of Americans?  For us, saving money isn’t about cutting luxuries. It’s about making what little money we have stretch further. Here are six simple steps for saving the money you make.

1. Coins

Save all of your loose change. Throw it in a jar, bottle or vase. After every shopping trip, check your pockets, and empty them into the container.   If you want to change your coins, wrap them

up and take them to a bank. Don’t use commercial coin counting machines, because they will charge you a percentage.

 2. Recycle

Recycling cans, plastic bottles and glass can really help your money go farther. Think about it. Every time you buy a beverage, you can get 5 or 10 cents back. This is also good for the environment and a good way to teach your kids great values. If you can’t afford to pay your kids allowance anymore, tell your kids that they can have as much money as they’d like that comes from recycling.

 3. Magic Number

Make a commitment not to spend bills of a certain “magic number.”  For instance, if you select ten as your “magic number,” any time you get a ten dollar bill, whether it’s in a birthday card or in change at the checkout, you are not allowed to spend it.  I use tens because the count is easy to keep track of. You can do the math in your head. For instance, a thousand single ten dollar bills equal ten thousand dollars.  With ones and fives, once I reach a hundred dollars, I change them into ten dollar bills so I am not tempted to spend them. If you have a large bill, and you think you may be tempted to spend it, change it into your magic number.  Then, you will be less tempted.

 4. Organization

Creating a spreadsheet can help you keep track of your spending. Knowing where your money goes every month will help you see areas that you can cut back on. If you are not a computer person, an old fashion tablet works. Simply make a chart that allows enough room to add notes, and write in pencil (or buy white out)!

 5. Rounding

When balancing your checkbook, round it up to the nearest dollar. Those small bits of change really add up over time. The next time you get paid, take the remaining balance from your checking and bump it to your savings, or withdraw it and add it to your home savings. Just make sure all checks and payments have cleared first. Having internet access to your bank account makes it easy to track payments.  Just don’t forget to round up.

 6. Location

Where and how you save cash is as important as saving the cash in the first place. If you feel you will be tempted to use your saved up money on your way out of the house, I recommend you use a bank. If you can save without touching it, then you can save at home with a piggy bank.   Ensuring you put your saved money in the safe as soon as you get home will make it more difficult for you to indulge in impulse buys when you are away from home.
